A while back, as I was rummaging in the yarn section of our beloved second hand store here in town, I ran across some lightweight chenille yarn.
At a dollar a skein, I figured I couldn't go wrong, and snagged them.
It worked up into a very nice scarf for my mother.
Makes me want to try some heavier weight chenille. I'll be on the lookout.
I finally bought a fringe twister... [thanks C. for the recommendation!] and that thing works a treat!
You clip half of every fringe bundle onto a clip and crank away. Then you tie those two in a knot. You can do two bundles at a time with this one.
I love how they turn out. Much more 'finished' looking. I think I'll be putting a lot of milage on this handy tool!

I know I use the word 'farm' here from time to time. I don't really live on a farm. But there are enough elements of farm life all around us that I guess I relate to that mindset. In my defense, there ARE chickens. Gardens. A horse. Hay. Straw. And manure. . . don't forget the manure.
The only thing we don't have are fields with row crops. Although come to think of it there IS a wheat field.
My winter wheat as of yesterday.
All of that to say that when I labeled this next photo, in my mind I dubbed it, The Farm Table...
The first batch of baked custard from the first eggs of the new year, and wheat sprouting for the hens.
I think that's pretty farmy right there....
(All you have is a raging case of farm envy. Totally different than REAL farming.)
Oh all right Mr. Cranky Pants. You can have the last word. But you cannot have any of my custard.
(Damn straight. And I don't care for custard.)
Sigh.....
