On The Blue Horizon

Next week at this time, God willing, I will be looking at the shores of Lake Tahoe.   Our knitting guild has had a knitting retreat planned for months and months, and at last the time is drawing near.

I am going to practice my minimalist packing techniques and see how well I do this time. Though after looking at the list of suggested items to bring compilled by one of the committee members, I may have my work cut out for me. Her list is extensive. And in Catagories. At the end of each catagory is a recurring word.... 'Chocolate'.  Like I would forget chocolate!

One of the activities we can participate in is a friendly little hat competition. I think there are three catagories for that too. I can't find the instruction sheet for it right now, but as I recall, you can enter a hat that is inspired by Lake Tahoe itself.

Here is my hat.

Ahem, E.R. , if you are reading this, avert your eyes.  ;-)

I have trees, leaves, the lake itself, the far horizon with snow on the mountains.  Eh? Eh?

(That puts quite a strain on the imagination there Cupcake.)

Well, that's the yarn I had on hand you see, in my orphan yarn stash.

It's very... thrifty and serendipitous.

(If it makes you feel better to think so, by all means, delude yourself at will.)

You are one tough nut to crack, you know that?

(Indoubitably.)

That hat is cute enough that I'd be willing to smash my hair to wear it!

Enjoy yourself in the wilds of Lake Tahoe! Seems you and Chaya are both headed off for adventures next week ;)

I absolutely love the hat!!!!! Looks so yummy you could eat it for sure! LOL

Have a wonderful time at your retreat. Wow, how much fun! You know I love lists that end in chocolate, begin in chocolate and are filled with chocolate!

This is nice being able to log on via my daughter's laptop. I miss my Sunday mornings over coffee catching up at DD! I will be glad to be able to get online once again when I can get a new puter. My local library is not open Sundays, wah!

Have a wonderful day. I am truly enjoying mine, it's so good to be here and spending time with my daughter.

I think that hat is amazing! And not only because you've captured the landscape but you did it all with your orphan yarn, which I think adds points to it's creativity and execution :)

Have fun packing ;)
