I'm not there yet.
Not exactly sure when I will be moving in.
Hopefully soon.
But I have a house to rent, and a very generous and kind landlord.
The house is heated with wood, and on his property there is a big hill with trees all over it.
He cuts wood whenever he can weatherwise, cleaning up his woods and cutting down dead and dying trees.
We have been hauling wood down from that hill with his pickup. It's been very satisfying for me to be able to do something so primal right now.
Grounding and physical. Practical and needfull work.
He split the last load for me [turns out I pretty much suck at splitting wood] and I went up this morning to stack it.
We are hoping to get one more load before the roads are too muddy. They are STEEP!
Here's my work…before...
And after...
Not enough for the winter, but close.
I will toast my toes by the stove when the time comes.
It's a great blessing.
