I picked a peach yesterday. I'll tell you why. During the day I collected four ruined ones that fell of their own accord. Two had been molested by creatures while still on the tree. Two I think fell off because they were squeezed off by their neighbors. BUT the main reason I plucked one was because as I stood looking up at them, a distinct scent of peach wafted into my nostrils. This was a new development. Plus some of the undertones on the peaches have turned from green to yellow. They are getting close to harvest time.
I chose this peach to pick because it was so huge and perfect and I would have been VERY put out if I had come out to find it mashed on the ground one fine morning.
So pluck I did.
Then the love affair began. It smells peachy. But it's too firm to be ripe. It came off with a few leaves still attached. It's as big as a softball. It's sheer peachy panache inspired me to take its portrait. So here you have it....
In the manner of Vermeer:

What a marvel of perfection it is, what what?
And now for a couple of details.
Those of you who THINK the ( ) who showed up in your comments yesterday is MY ( ), are, I am afraid, sadly mistaken. Those ( ) are YOUR ( ) and you will have to deal with them in your own way in your own time. I have enough trouble with my own ( ) thank you very much.
And in the matter of the flaming cupcake, I feel compelled to show that I was not making it up.... here's the link:
I wasn't kidding....
I'm going now. I have to gofondle admire my peaches.
Toodles.
