Early Birds Just Freeze Their Tail Feathers Off

This morning I got up before dawn and walked down to the beaver pond.
Did I see Mr. Beaver, even though I was stumbling around in the dark?
Nope.
But I plan to go back sometime today or tomorrow and get a better look at his pond. He has really been busy. There is water now, all around is lodge, though it is pretty shallow water.
I took some really bad pictures I won't annoy you with, but under the circumstances it was a 'you had to be there' excursion.
This is what it looked like at the END of my explorations at the creek...
Everything before that was… dark. And cold. And foggy. I heard coyotes in the distance.
So, now my strategy is to go down there after sunDOWN and wait around for a while.
So much for getting up early.
Sigh.
Would that she would exert as much energy on cleaning out the refrigerator...
Alas, it is not to be.
