Thu Dec 09 2004 - Arnold Lights Menorah
Arnold Lights Menorah

I saw the Governator again today. He lit the Hannukah menorah on the steps of the Capitol. We had a nice large crowd and there were a couple of special guests. Jon Voight and Adam Sandler were both there. Jon gave a nice speech about the holiday and Adam Sandler was the comic relief and introduced the kids choir. It was a lovely morning considering the wild weather we have had just recently. I was dressed a little too warm as a matter of fact.

I didn't bring my camera I'm sorry to say, but here are a couple of shots from last year's lighting....

Only this year he had on a nice dark suit instead. My favorite part was after the lighting when Arnold danced with all the Rabbis. They made a tight circle around him. I think it makes the poor secret service guys lose their minds, but hey, he was among friends! If you aren't safe surrounded by 20 Rabbis, you aren't safe anywhere.

That's the way I look at it anyway.

Wow, these pics were so big I couldn't really get to see them properly. Sounds like a fun evening, though. ;-)

Okay, no worries. The pics were smaller by the time my comment went through. That's much better. ;-)

Happy Hannukah! I know I'm not much of an expert on the holiday, but from what I do know, I find it to be beautiful, and far more "purist" than Christmas these days. I envy that.

Celebrate miracles from wherever they come! You can't have enough miracles in today's world!

I think it sounds like a safe place to be! Now only if more of the world felt that same.

What a fun tradition. I'm glad you got to go again this year.
