Of Fonts And Tomatoes
Tue Aug 02 2005

I am in the font zone again today. Since getting the new computer, I have been rebuilding some of my font files a little at a time. I am using Viner Hand ITC today in here, though I know that it will not show up for some people. I just want to see it myself for once. I wonder how your computer decides which font to use instead? Do they line up and take a number? Are there appointments involved? A waiting list? Auditions? Font casting couches?

The mind boggles.

I have the glorious task of paying bills today. It's just such a scintillating task I can hardly wait to do it!

NOT!

I have picked a few tomatoes this morning:

So you know what I will be doing the rest of the day! I am running out of wide mouth rings for my jars. This could be a problem. Might have to give some to the neighbors instead!

Soup is on the menu also, as Hub Man's mother is coming over for dinner, as it is her birthday. I really need to get busy. This year she prefers not to have a cake, so I am trying to think of something light and summery for dessert.

At the moment my mind is a blank.

(I can verify that.)

Yeah, but can you can tomatoes, that is what *I* want to know!!!!

Great haul!! Dustbunny will be SAD if you don't bring a nice basket on trip to high country.
Ours are still Green and not near big enough for fried green tomatoes.

What about Tomato Pie for dinner/dessert? No?

OK, here is Hubby's favorite, and I make it with the sugar free types so it is almost healthy ...

Melt 2 Tbsp butter & mix into a package of graham cracker crumbs. Press into bottom of a casserole dish.
Make and spoon on one layer of regular or sugar free instant vanilla or banana pudding, stick in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Make and spoon on one layer of regular or sugar free chocolate pudding, stick in the fridge for another 30 minutes.
Top with layer of Lite Whipped Topping, & stick back in the fridge until time to serve.

You can substitute any of the puddings for your favorite, this is always a crowd pleaser in warm weather.

Sliced bananas, orange pieces (and juice)and shredded coconut. Well chilled and topped with a dab of whipped cream. It's good w/o the whipped cream.

Grapefruit works too, if you like a tangier mix.

Wow, that's a lot of tomatoes. Why don't you ask the neighbours for jars and give them back filled with tomatoes. Wish I could have some. ;-)

cor I wish I had that many toms on my trees! I have so far had the princely amount of ONE red one and that was a cherry one at that, there has just not been enough sun here yet, I'm hoping the crop will go red soon, we are going to make relish.
