Imagine picture of completed crazy socks......
HERE
It is a testament to my self-control, maturity, and newly found sense of what I shall now refer to as 'knitting integrity', that when I discovered that my COMPLETED second sock had a major flaw in it.... [take a breath to complete this run on sentence] that I took the scissors and cut off the toe and frogged it back to just passed the heel turn and started over on the section where I forgot to 'knit one round even after every decrease round'.
Gasp for air.
This gives me even more of a reason to pursue my new strategy for knitting socks. I nipped out the other day and bought a second pair of circular needles and henceforth will work my pairs of socks simultaneously. A section of one, then a section of the other so that when I'm finished, I have a PAIR of socks. Not ONE sock and have to start all over again on the second one, having forgotten all the little things that I had to pay attention to so as to get the pattern right the first time.
If you want to call this disorder, OCK, feel free.
Funny that. The acronym for "Obsessive Compulsive Knitting" rhymes with 'sock'.
If the Knitting Fairy will look over my shoulder today, I hope to finish my goofed up sock and post a picture of the pair tomorrow.
If she is otherwise engaged, well, I don't know what will happen.
[My maturity, self-control and knitting integrity DOES have limits.]
