Somebody FIX the Thermostat!
Fri Jul 21 2006

Okay, let me get this straight.

It is unacceptable for the temperature to be 80 degrees at 4:30 in the morning. That is what it was when Hub Man left for work. It never went below that either. It was the same when I got up at 7:00.

I'm filing a formal complaint. Heads are going to roll. Demotions will occur. Groveling apologies will be forthcoming.

(You wish.)

Listen ( ), you ever hear of 'heat rage'?

Try to stay cool my DD friends!

Argh! Tell me about it! Our normal highs in the summer are supposed to be 70-80 degrees, with the occasional 85-degree days. The next four days are in the low 90s! And most Seattle homes and some businesses (like mine!) have no air conditioning and poor ventilation. It's currently 11:45 a.m. and it's now 83 degrees *in my office*! We're actually closing at 3 p.m. today because this old building will be completely intolerable by 5.

Stay cool! Drink water! Take a nap (if you can). It's gonna be hard to sleep this weekend. :P

We've had a "cold front" roll through here. The temps are only in the high 80's with 100% humidity.

Now, let me just say that I know a thing or two about humidity as our company does water damage restoration. Comfortable relative humidity is about 30%. 30%. Are we seeing the problem here??? 30% v. 100%.

This is just wrong. I'm with you. Let's write our congress-persons and have them pass legislation that would set drying equipment and mandate outside A/C.

    We, The Peoples, have spoken!

It made me update to the most current Quicktime version before it would allow me to play, and that was for the "medium" trailer.

Today in the mountains we had an all day cloud cover with about 248 drops of water. Only about 80 degrees compared to the 105 we had and are supposed to have the beginning of the week. Thunder showers maybe tomorrow. Humidity FEELS like 200%.

How come you haven't melted yet. I know how much you love the heat.

    Love you.....Parett

Give my regards to Hubman and Poolboy. Broadway, too!

RYN: I can't claim to have done that with you in mind, at least not originally. I just wanted to play and see how it looked on the website. I didn't even know it was thundering until after I went outside and even then they were few and far between. Maybe someday I'll have the thought to record a real storm instead of just a little noise. ;o)

I am trying hard to keep a good attitude about all of this, but it is past 10 pm and I'm tired. It is 80 degrees in this room and that is with the AC unit running full tilt. It is far worse in my bedroom upstairs; no AC just fans trying to blow hot air out into the equally hot air outside. (Do we see a problem here?)

I've lived thru a few heat waves in my day, but this one is just insane!

I do hope the heat wave passes soon and that you are finding ways to keep cool!
