Photosynthesis - Yer Doin' It Right
Sun Mar 18 2012

After another rainy night, the sun has finally come out. The yard is soggy with the riches of water. I'm grateful for the rains. We were far behind this year, and this will help. The clover is taking it all in and turning the water and sun into Crimson Clover Biomass. I wish I had a flock of chickens or a goat or two to share this special treat with. I'll have to be content with its other benefit, and that is the nitrogen fixing that the roots are doing in the un-glamorous underbelly of this impressive growth.   I also found a happy situation in my Sweet William forest. It promises to be another stunning year. One artichoke plant survived from last year. It's growing like a weed. Our sunny tour may be a short one. I hear there's more rain on the way. If this is the result, then I'm all for it. Bring it.

I have decided that there really is something to the old saying, "Right as rain." Rain gets the dust, pollen and other crud out of the air, washes the houses, the cars and the leaves and seems to ease tensions. The only thing is that it keeps everyone INSIDE. I rather enjoy it when all the fur kids can play OUTSIDE, but, I guess everyone has to make a couple of sacrifices now and then.
