Sky Shift

Today when I looked out my window early in the morning, before the sun was up, I saw it. A fall sky. You can't fool me. Never mind that it is supposed to be 97 degrees here today. Never mind that it is only August 4th. I know what I saw. And I'm passing on the news. Make a note of it. You heard it here first. And as a confirmation of the incoming harvest season, this is what I found in my garden this morning: DSC03766 This makes me forget for a little while all the very hard and sweaty work it takes to make a nurturing place for these wonders to grow. Their beauty is a delight. DSC03771 DSC03775 Even after all these years as a gardener, I still find growing my own food a miraculous thing. I am surprised every year that seeds turn into food. I am never able to take it as a matter of course. And I hope I never do.   lime-wild
