Robert Red Fur Nostalgia
Thu Jul 03 2008

[album 65561 Bridge.JPG]

I ran across this picture from some of my old archives in Hamipiks today. Sorry for the poor quality, this was a scan of a photo made with a hand held scanner we used to have.

This is Robbie down by Scott River many years ago now....
I'm feeling rather nostalgic for Robbie these days for some reason. I have seen a lot of Shelties in the last year, but not one of them comes close to how handsome Robbie was.

He is the quintessential Sheltie to me. All the rest get compared to him I'm afraid. I suppose that is not quite fair and all, but there you have it.

When you have hung out with the bench mark, gold standard Sheltie . . . it's gonna leave a mark.

Odd, since I never met him and all, but I miss Robbie, too.

He was indeed a handsome fellow.

We're a bit the same. All Abys and Burmese get graded on how like our boys they are.

What a handsome boy he was!

I do know what you mean. Every Golden for me is judged using the Einstein Scale and most, if not all, are sadly lacking *sigh*

You're right. Not one of the dogs you've fostered is as beautiful. They might come close, but not quite.
    Hugs

I'm with you on Robbie. He's like an old friend to me and I never had the pleasure of scritching his fur. You're doing the most wonderful thing to preserve his memory by caring for all these Shelties. I'm sure he would have been happy to help out.

RYN: Twitter can be as private as you want it to be; only people you allow would see your posts. I am enjoying it for what it's worth. Had a few nice though brief visits with online friends about normal daily stuff we never would have thought to talk about before - tomatoes and kids parties... nothing serious but really nice to be able to do that. I would love it if you checked it out, I was thinking of you and a few others. :o)

Well, when you're primo, you're primo. And one can't help comparing the lesser lites, handsome though they may be.
