So, I'm not one for a lot of jewelry. It's never been my thing. But I have felt lately that I wanted a little bit of something to wear around my neck to dress up the plain dresses I wear. I do have scarves, but they are for 'dressy' times. I hardly ever need dressy.
Quite some time ago I saw a woman in a video who was wearing this thin fabric 'necklace' wrapped around her neck. I looked EVERYWHERE to try and find out where to get one. I couldn't find anything like it and eventually gave up the search.... which is saying something, because I don't give up easily.
Then one day I found a skirt at a second-hand store that was not my size, but I loved the fabric and bought it for sewing projects. The skirt had a thin belt that came with it. As soon as I got it home, I took it off the skirt and wrapped it around my neck. It was as close as I could get to what I saw in that video. I've been wearing it ever since. 
I know, I know... it's a little weird. But my mother used to tell me quite often, I am weird.

Yes. Don't we all.
Anyway, I decided to try to make myself another one and chose some fabric.

I sewed the whole thing by hand and added a few trinkets for weight. I just finished it this morning.
I'm wearing it now and am happy with the whole project.
I'm considering another one, though along a quite different design. These are the things we do when it's freezing cold outside and we need to stay near the fire.
And like I said.
I'm easily amused.
