Jungle Fever
Fri Aug 27 2004

I'm gearing up to venture out into the garden jungle and I'm taking my machete with me. It's time to whack and hack down some spent flowers and do some cleaning up out there. I have waited until some of these plants have gone to seed, hoping for some nice volunteers next year. It's not hard to tell the Bermuda grass from the flower sprouts so I don't worry about weeding too much.

I saw at least one Tangerine clinging to my young tree earlier this summer. I am going to inspect it more closely to see if there are any more. However many there are, they won't be ready to eat until January.

I finished re-writing another chapter of the novel yesterday, and hope to get one more done this afternoon. It's going fairly well, but oh, there are so many others waiting!
But I won't think about that today. Today I will think about the ONE chapter at hand.

(What a weenie.)

Sigh. Hello there Sunshine.

(I'm just saying..... )

I know, it's your job.

Well, no more dawdling, I am off to the garden, where I am sure to find some tomatoes hiding in the tangle of ever growing vines. They do not know the meaning of restraint.

Megan has been in her back yard with her machete (weed whacker), and she has the blisters to prove it!

Good luck with the tomatoes. If your vine is anything like my Early Girl some years back, you'll be finding fruit in November!

    Shalom

( ) is wrong. Focusing on ONE chapter at a time is a good strategy for getting the job done and staying sane at the same time. ( ) really needs to learn to be more supportive. Should you really want to get to her, try quoting little homilies like "inch by inch anything is a cinch". That should quiet her down. :)

    My dear, dear, kind soul.
    () is a masculine creature.
    I know it.

And it's just not in his nature to be supportive.

But it's nice of you to offer him some advice.
I doubt very much that he will listen.

RYC: I had indeed wondered if I had correctly guessed the gender and feared I had it wrong. My sincere apologies to ( ). I wonder if he might not be softened were he to be introduced to * * who is often filled with remarkable humor. :)
