Back With My Homies

Where do I begin?

Summer is winding down.

But the majority of the peaches still cling to the tree.

I guess they don't want to leave the mother ship just yet. I have my blankets and pillows ready in case anyone decides they are ready for the big wide world.

Thusly:

Last year, my kitchen table was covered with ripening peaches on the 17th of August. This year, instead of late bloomers, we have late ripeners.

I am being very patient with them because when picked too early, they are so disappointing to eat... so in my best tradition of delayed gratification, I am going all Zen about them.

There have been a few that have made it into long term preservation....

Behold, one dehydrator load of peachy snacks:

It's good to be back on DearDiary. If it wasn't for the spammers, we wouldn't have to deal with all the crazy security measures that so recently put a monkey wrench in our on line addictions.

(You're all a bunch of Junkies. You got that right.)

SOME things about this place I didn't miss all that much come to think of it...

I thought I had a lot to say when DD was down. Now I can't think of anything useful.

When all your peaches ripen together you're going to be busy.

    Bless

You are quite right; picked too soon peaches are truly disappointing. That's why I never buy them at the grocery store. I am quite put off by fuzzy rocks pretending to be delectable fruit. Peaches should never be crunchy.

Those peaches are being stubborn this year! When the next one decides to come into the big world, I would love a bite! Good to have you back!
