Just In Case I Didn't Have Enough To Do…
Sun Jan 08 2012

Yesterday just as it was getting dark, we received a new foster dog.

Panda.

He was relinquished from an overcrowded home and spent some time in the shelter, where he came down with a doggy cold.

He’s only a year and a half old and I do believe he had never been groomed.

The staff at the shelter had cut off some of his mats and I spent quite a bit of time clearing out some more of them.

Today he got a bath and more brushing, but STILL has mats to work on.

He is not a pure Sheltie. We think he is crossed with Pomeranian. Hence the difficult coat.

I think he is feeling better, and has not coughed much all afternoon.

Ben and Sunny haven’t been able to properly say hello to him, as we are keeping them separated for a few days.

Here he is, in somewhat better shape:

All 17 pounds of him.

Sorry but this just freaks me out to no end because I WANT THAT DOG and that just isn't me. I never go by appearance but there's something in that face that just tugs at me.....

Why is that poor baby called Panda?? That's a bad name if I've ever heard one. He looks like an Oliver if I've ever seen one.

Ah, he is a cutie. I can see why W.A. was quite smitten; there really is something about his face. May he find a forever home soon. :)

What a cutie! I think if Welshie wants to adopt him she should!

You managed to get a great angle on him, because his coat doesn't look nearly as bad as you indicate in your entry! We just adopted out a black and white cat named Panda. He was sweet, but three or four years old and therefore not as popular as the younger cats. Sounds like it's a good week for Panda animals!
