Notes From The Cliffhanger

Things go along swimmingly here.

The summer has been kind, the weather mild, the tomatoes prolific, and the peaches get bigger every day. They are not ready to harvest yet, but soon.... soon.

I have been so busy doing weblog reviews lately that other writing has taken a back seat. I seem to only be able to handle so many things at once. On some levels I feel competent and on top of the chores around here. But my creative self is hanging by her fingernails on a moss covered cliff somewhere in an uncharted land. I'm holding on. Hoping to find a ledge wide enough to accommodate my whole self, not just my toes. If I find that place, I will set up housekeeping and do some of the things I've been wanting to get to. I have a creative backlog. (One doesn't want to actually UTTER the dreaded "Writer's Block" phrase, but there it is.)

One of my goals today was to begin writing on the novel rewrite. It's noon here, and no such luck. I have tomatoes to can. Maybe this afternoon. Right now though, it's tuna sandwich time. I leave you with a picture from the garden. A small shot of my wild and crazy jumble of blooms. THEY don't seem to be having any creative crisis. . .

More to follow in the coming days.
For the curious, the blue flowers with white centers are Ensign Morning Glories.

Those little blue flowers with the white centers? Bachelor Buttons?

I'd like a pic of you in your swing in the back yard. Can you manage that?

Shalom

PS: I'd try to stake out a claim, but I'm afraid Hub Man could claim prior ownership. As in "I got here first."

What are you going to make with the peaches? It is so long since I have had a peach the thought of being able to pick one off a tree in my garden is making me drool... heehee

I am finding it hard to focus on anything creative these days. There always seems to be some thing pulling me in some other direction. Speaking of, it is time to head to Beaverton for the second time today. *sigh*

Hang onto that cliff; autumn is coming and the leaves will fall from the bush that hides the ledge from your site. Just beyond lies a cozy little cave where you should be able to set up housekeeping and get to those things you long to do. In the mean time, look around and soak in the beauty of the view before you. :)

All of the sudden I am thinking about Hobbits. hmmmm......I wonder if that means you should watch out for trolls? hmmmm
