I Bet You Think You Are A Real Comedian Don't You?
Fri Nov 09 2007

Remember all those Hobbit Pouches I knitted for the craft fair?

Remember when I told you that God has a sense of humor?

Well I have more evidence.

I picked up our new foster dog last night at about 8 o'clock.

Meet, ... [and I kid you not, I can't make this stuff up....]

Frodo:

We have been up since 5 o'clock. We went for a run in the school yard and then a LONG walk in the fields. Frodo stayed on his leash.... he is skittish. Then came home and had breakfast.... and finally for the first time in four hours he did this....

Up until this moment he has been in constant motion.

Constant.

Right now he is conked out by my side here at the computer desk.

The only thing I know about Frodo thus far is that he was kept in an outdoor kennel all day and in the garage at night. With minimal interaction with the big wide world.

Sunny loves all over him. Then she tried to play all out rough house like she did with Sandy. Frodo said no thanks. But out in the school yard, he did run and let out a few happy barks. This was good.

I'll tell you what though, this dog has NO leash manners.

None.

I almost tripped over him a hundred times on our walk. He was all over the place.

I can see I have my work cut out for me.

Again.

Shhhhh...., now.

Frodo is sleeping.

So you have a Hobbit Pouch and and new friend named Frodo who loves long journeys....... as long as you don't come across any gold rings I think all will be well.

I'd stay out of deep water and caves though.

    Just to play it safe.

    Can't be too careful.

Frodo. Well, he is a handsome lad! All that energy and go-go-go, whew!

OK, you and Sunny will teach him his manners, and you will miss him when he goes to a permanent home. Yep, you'll do a great job and a great dog will go to a great home.

Re home: I see you've been moving furniture around again.

    Bless

His ear set makes me think Frodo is definately a shy kid but I have faith in the voodoo that you do so well. He should be up to speed in no time!

Is he a sheltie or a collie? He looks BIG for a sheltie!

How old is he? I'll keep my fingers crossed that he settles down once he realizes he won't be living in isolation.

Ditto the Gollum comment... He's pretty though, and you'll have him behaving in no time. You always do. :o)

What a coincindence!! LOL! He is beautiful?? Are all your foster dogs collies? It will be a whole new world for him for sure. But you work such wonders with them. The dog across the street is just chained to the garage and no one even stops to pet him, he barks constantly and i think it is a disgrace! I feel so sorry for that dog. it is a black and white border collie and you know they need exercise. They also have 2 other dogs like they need them they just moved back in with grandpa who lives there as they can't afford housing for them their 3 kids and 3 dogs. They do it every winter. last year they had 1 dog and it was a different one then these 3. Standing in that open 2 car garage door isn't going to help this dog when it is 20 below and blowing snow!!! They never take him in the house. I may have to intervene. Good for you have another buddy! (hugs)
