What Were You Doing at 4:30 AM?

Well, I'll tell you what I was doing...
Tiptoeing through the dark house worried about what Elvin, Mr. P's dog next door was barking at so hysterically.
I got up to see the flashlight waving around outdoors and then heard a gun shot!
Turns out that a certain very large and very black bear was sitting in the apple tree having a snack.
Mr. P does not want bears hanging around the yard.
[Neither do I, come to think of it…]
So he warned him off.
Last seen, he was making tracks back up into the woods where he belongs.
I didn't step foot out of the door last night though.
I really don't WANT to see a bear that badly.
I'll watch them on TV, thank you very much.
I hope he decides to find other places to hang out at 4:30 in the morning.
It's crowded enough around here already.
Besides, I have plans for those apples myself!

Indoors....with the lights out and the doors locked.......sounds like a perfectly respectable plan to me. :)

YIKES!!!
Well, you already know how I feel about bears, so I won't go on and on about it.
But, still......
I'd have been locked in my closet if it were in my yard.
Pesky critters.

Eeek! There are times I'm really glad I live in a country where the largest wild mammal (well, apart from a few introduced goats and rabbits) is a very small bat.

Oh my. There goes another theory. Up here in Bear Valley we do get a bear or so every few years and they break into cabins and make a huge mess. Supposedly they won't come near if there is a barking dog :)))
I'm just glad he didn't think your garden was tasty :)))
