Achtung!
Mon Feb 20 2006

I wonder what people in America were talking about around the dinner table when Hitler was making his hysterical speeches in Germany in the late 30's?

Because today I heard on the radio, the Imam from Denmark hysterically preachifying in the same tones.

He sounded eerily like the other madman we all know so well.

What could they have done, sitting around the dinner table all those years ago?

What can we do today?

I'm not sure.

But I don't think I am going to be quiet about it.

I remember bits and pieces of what we talked about. We were coming out of the Great Depression. My grandparents were German descent, and I remember Grandpa being extremely upset over what was happening. He read Mein Kampf in the original German and just about had a heart attack. "Ach! That man will ruin Germany!"

Of course, we didn't know anything about the concentration camps until after the military came home.

What's happening now is another form of the same insanity.

I was happy to read that Israel has cut off all funds to Hamas. Now if Israel can just find a way to intercept any aid from the Arab countries, perhaps Hamas will finally will come begging. But I think Israel needs to take the same stance as Hamas (and other Arab countries) take toward Israel: Death to Hamas.

Where will it end? Maybe R'Mendy is correct. It's a prelude to Mashiach. May it be so!

    Shalom

I find Chaya's comment to be similar to what mine is - Rick and I firmly believe that we are in the Last Days and surely this is one of the signs, along with Iran and Russia and their nuclear dreams, Hamas... anything and everything. How drastically things are changing, how amazing it all is.

Silence in such circumstances is a sin even if it comes at personal risk as the history books will attest

I would not have given canning a thought had #2 not been asking if I had any peaches hidden anywhere. They cleared out all the fruit I canned early in the fall, so I need to find several hiding places this summer to avoid the same for next year!

I do wonder if the world is not more out of control now than I have seen. A madness is so upsetting
and when we stop the Media fanning the flames of unrest of those with no hope and nothing to lose will it end. That is what Hitler used to fan the flames.

That IS cute!! I'm not brave enough yet for that short since mine has been waist length for most of my adult life. However, you did make me go back and look at even shorter cuts again. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do! EEK!! ;o)

Let us hope that people now are not as deaf.
Such mad ranting pierces the heart.
