Where have I been?
I agreed to work part-time for a salesman friend who is under a deadline. I have spent the last two days over there formatting and spell checking and manipulating documents. It is the most pleasant of home offices, working with my own laptop and with congenial company. But face it, anywhere away from home is stressful for me. I'm a 'keep the home fires burning' kinda girl. And my home fires were calling me the whole time. I'm supposed to go back part of Thursday and all Friday if I can manage it.
But today, I'm home stoking fires. Though to be sure, I'm doing it slowly. You see, this morning, I got up real early to take the poor dogs for a walk. They have been sadly neglected these last few days. On the way back from a good romp, I tripped on one of those lawn strips that divide the path from the grass. It was sticking up in the air and I didn't see it with two dogs at my side... Whammo! I went down hard on my side. I skinned my left thumb knuckle, rammed the palm of my right hand into the ground and landed hard on my right side. I am pretty sure I have either bruised or cracked a rib as it does not feel very nice to take a deep breath, though in my reading of how to treat such an injury, that is exactly what you are supposed to do every now and then so as to keep your lungs happy.
Oh joy!
I downed some ibuprofen and iced the daylights out of my palm. It's harder to ice the ribs as there's a certain female structure in the way if you know what I mean.
I better stop typing now, my thumb is starting to complain.... I'll be reading you though!
