So, yesterday I took a good look at Ben, who had begun to take on that "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" look.
I had been putting it off, but as rain was pending, I decided to brush him out and give him a bath before the storm moved in.
We spent a good 40 minutes on the living room floor with the implements of torture, dog brushes. We had a few tussles when I was working on the tender bits, but we managed to make it through without any major tantrums, by either one of us.
I was a bit taken aback by the volume of fur he had been carrying around. You would think that Ben was the problem child in the shedding department, but he is a real gentleman about the whole thing. He carries his 'blown' coat around until I work up the gumption to brush it out. Sunny just walks around constantly dropping fur like Pigpen,
every single minute of every single day.
Sigh.
Anyway, this is what I combed out of Ben yesterday...
Brace yourself.
After I took this picture, I went back to clean up the mess...
And it's a really good thing I didn't wait too long to get to that...
It was morphing into something.
Something that just might have decided to walk off on its own...
Lord help us.
It's been a long winter.
