….. is a sort of silly word bandied about these days which just means you've made something 'new' out of something already existing.
I think that has been going on for a very long time, like…. oh, flour sack dresses for little girls... but whatever.
I'm a little cranky about buzz words in general. They smack of propaganda to me sometimes.
However, even though I balk at the buzz, I very much enjoy using what's on hand to make something that one needs.
And I need aprons.
Aprons with pockets.
Aprons so my hens can sit on my lap.
[Yes, that is actually starting to happen. It's hard to get a picture of it though!]
Aprons that are out of the ordinary.
So, when I heard about making an apron out of a man's shirt… well, I had to try that.
Many of the patterns use the front of the shirt.
I wanted to use the back.
Here is is...
The pocket is made from the cuff of the sleeve.
Today I cut out another apron from an old tablecloth that my mother had set aside for her yard sale. I loved the fabric, so I made it up as I went along, and this is the result...
I'm wearing it now.
I may never take it off.
