Sock Nut
Sun Nov 19 2006

I finished my other knitting project so I got to start the thing I really wanted to work on right now.

Another pair of socks.

I'm using the same pattern as before, and as I told Hub Man last night with four colors in the sock, the permutations are almost endless. And knowing my proclivity for such thoughts as: 'I wonder how they would look with THIS combination?' I could be in for quite a stretch with this pattern.

And I am feeling very smug about my sock making technique too.

I have dubbed them Semi Simultaneous Socks. I just can't see working one whole sock to completion and then having to start over from the beginning on the next.... hence I am doing it this way:

In the higher echelons of the knitting world, there are people who actually do knit them simultaneously. I've seen the directions for it. I got a headache trying to get my brain around it. This seemed so much simpler to me.

Ain't they cute?

I am inordinately fond of them. They make me think of something Mary Englebrightish because of those checkers. She's big on checkers....

(You're big on minutia.)

What can I say? I'm easily amused.

(Of this I have no doubt whatsoever.)

They are very cute! Is this the pattern you will use for mine? I think Mary E. would be very proud of you and I love her style. :o)

Those socks look like fun things to give for birthdays. Or other events. Or just because.

    Like those colors so far.

What very smart socks! Well done!

The last knitting I did was a layette for a friend's baby early this year. That was fun, too.
