I feel better today.
Though my ears are plugged up and it makes things sound funny. Loud noises hurt. Ben barking is particularly disturbing.
I felt good enough to make myself some tuna patties a la 404 Error.
They turned out spiffy. I used panko bread crumbs instead of saltines because that’s what I had in the house. I don’t care for raw-ish onions, so I put a lid on the skillet while they were browning and that cooked the onion a bit more than I expect it would have otherwise. But all in all? Nice simple tasty food. Thanks for the recipe!
Go check it out on her most recent entry if you want to try them.
On other notes of interest, have any of you gone to the new dear diary site Steve is working on? A WordPress based site that would put us more in touch with the mainstream. Bells, whistles, tags, links, .... mainstream.
You can migrate your diary [nothing will happen to your diary here] and begin posting over there to see what it is like. It’s not all functioning as he wants it to yet. But it’s kind of fun to see how you can customize the theme that is available. I was able to get my same graphics on the other site by certain iMac gyrations that took a bit of geeking, but I’m happy with the results.
Anyway, here’s the link to the new site....
Hit ‘migrate diary’ use your regular username and login and it should work. If you have troubles, let Steve know on the Dear Diary Facebook page and he’ll help you.
I hope this works, here’s my diary over there....
I made that graphic at the top using the Keynote program on the iMac. I bet he’d be pissed if he knew that I did with his fancy shmancy software!
Don’t let’s tell him okay?

When Kendall's Dad and I were married we spent the work week at his job site, a rock quarry out in the middle of nowhere at the mouth of Deer Creek Canyon, 15 miles from the little town of Vina. (It is where Ishi, the last "wild" Yahi Native American lived.) Anyway, we had no electricity or running water there.
Much of the food we ate during the week had to be canned food as we had only ice chests for refrigeration. We could count on meat staying fresh for a couple of days, but after that, it was risky. I became intimately familiar with a wide variety of canned meats-- turkey, corned beef hash, bacon, even whole canned chickens (which are excellent for soup,) believe it or not, and lots of tuna. But the tuna patties were a big hit and we continued to eat them even when we were home. I haven't had canned bacon or whole chicken since those days, but I could sure tell someone how to eat well when camping out!
I went to the NewDD site a couple of days ago but there's really nothing there yet, and I didn't migrate my diary. I'll probably do that in the next few days.
I hope you are fully recovered over the weekend, or even by the time you read this tomorrow night or Sunday. I hate feeling sick(er than usual) and really empathize.
