Get Geeky
Tue Mar 04 2008

Spring is sproinging all around. I'm even starting to fret about ticks out in the fields again. Boy I would love to find a fool proof way to keep those creepy little insectoids off my person, but so far everything I have tried was only partially successful. I think we are still safe, but a few more weeks of warm weather, and it's all over as far as walking in the tall grass is concerned.

I geeked up a storm yesterday and downloaded Windows Live Mail.
So far I like it just peachy.
If you have more than one email account, you can put all your accounts into Live Mail and see them all in one place. Gmail is a little bit of a bear to configure, but the help files in the Live Mail program tell you exactly what to do.

But that's not all. You can then set up nice RSS Feeds for all the places you browse with frequently updated content. Like Drudge, or Little Green Footballs, or even forum posts if you belong to any that include the rss feed button.... [that little orange square thingy].

Anyway, it took me a whole day to get it set up and running the way I wanted it to and now it is my 'Center of all Power' as one of my sons used to say. I don't have to check all those web sites to see if they have updated, I get an RSS Feed instead. I even put all my dd friends on it just because I could. We have RSS on our diaries in case you didn't know.

I'm such a geek.

(And proud of it I take it?)

Well why not? You hang out with geeky sons long enough, you wake up with SKILLS dude!

And on a final note, here's Piper in the back yard.

It took half an hour to get a good picture of her.

I had to wait till she stopped moving.

What a wiggle worm.

Isn't she a looker?

Just don't ask her about her potty training skills just yet.

It's a touchy question.

She doesn't like to talk about it.

Indeed she is a pretty girl. After all that running around, you managed a picture of her without her tongue lolling out. But that would be a good picture, too.

You mentioned that Piper possibly had a family waiting for her. Do I recall correctly?

    What a babe!
She won't be around for long.
Well, if I can't be a geek myself it's good to know one is close at hand. :o)
