So I finally tackled the last heavy yard project.

Over the years, I have tried several things around the base of this oak tree. None of them did well. I finally decided to take it ALL apart and just let it be 'natural'.

This was before:

That rosemary shrub was just a mess and a leaf magnet. I removed all the rocks on the south and west side and cleaned out all the sod and leaves and detritus. It was heavy work moving those rocks. And though it doesn't look like much, I dragged three tarp loads of stuff away.

The rocks that go around the corner there are actually embedded in the cement, which is kind of nice, because no weeds grow!

Anyway, why all this documentation? Because it's the last of my yard and garden reset this year. It was quite a challenge, and took me a solid six weeks to get all my projects finished. Now it will be weeding and watering and mowing.

I'm looking forward to sitting in the swing and just looking at things growing. I wonder what that will be like???🤔
