Confirmation Of Whackyness
Fri Aug 18 2006

I may be about to cement myself in some of your minds as a real weirdo, but what can I say, I want to tell the truth.
After yesterday's entry and while still under the influence of painkilling drugs,

(She says trying to cover up for what follows.)

I opened the little green plastic box with my tooth in it and wondered what to do with it. I mean sticking it in my sock drawer didn't have much appeal. And honestly, after I'd had a good look at it, I didn't think I wanted to run across it three years hence and have to gaze at my old body part.  Grim.

Then I had an epiphany.

I waltzed my wobbily self out to the tool shed, then muzzily made my way to a certain marker .....

I put old Charlie to rest along with my bestest furry friend.

Is that weird?

(Sounds weird as hell to me.....but then, that's just me. I think all manner of things are weird.)

Well, anyway. That's what I did.

I tried to put a link to Robbie's story, but I don't know if it worked. If you are reading this and don't know Robbie, go to my Welcome page and click on the link that says... "Our Robbie" , then you will know.

Okay, I better go now and eat some kind of very mushy food. I'm fainting from hunger here.... (but don't anybody tell my mother that, she is afraid I'm going to drop down dead from missing a few meals)

Many, MANY years ago, I had 4 teeth pulled before acquiring braces. Those 4 teeth are still in a little brown envelope, in the bottom drawer of my jewelry box, which is rarely opened. To this day, I have no idea while I kept them (except that I, too, was amazed by their "iceberg-like" qualities). My only defense is that I rarely open that particular drawer of my jewelry box. Out of sight, out of mind! (However, I DID NOT keep my Kidney Stone!)

Carrying a dead tooth around for years is even more weird so in the grand scheme of things this seems quite sensible. A very fitting resting place.

I think that was a very good idea. And I don't think you are weird or whacky. :o)

I went back and read the entry about Robbie. I can't stop crying. What a beautiful dog. I just know he is running in some big woods up there somewhere.
    Hugs.

Eh I gave my wisdom teeth to my tattoo artist to smoosh into his skulls head that he keeps there.

We all do weird things with body parts.

That's going to give the archaeologists something to think about in a thousand years' time... :-)

Definitely not weird. Weird would be putting it on a chain and wearing it round your neck (I have heard of someone doing this!)

I don't have any of MY teeth saved but I have every one of my children's teeth that they lost during their childhood. I have stored them over the years in little pink and blue Tupperware egg cups. Maybe Tupperware should print that use in their catalogue. ;o] By now (36 yrs. later) the teeth are pretty brittle and some have broken but it's fun to run across them every so often and remember how cute my kids were.

I'm glad to hear you are still functioning well!

    Have a good weekend. Parett

Personally, I don't think that's weird. It felt right to you, yeah, great. I don't think I'd seen the little marker for Robbie before. Have a great weekend. ;-)

I wish ( ) would keep his/her/its thoughts to him/her/itself. Best friends should be together.

    Shalom

I think Robbie would be very happy to have a permanent part of you with him if he knew. Just saying.

I just had my molar pulled today...in pieces, and I didn't get to keep any of them pieces, which was good. It had root canal and post about a couple yrs ago. I think it was sweet that you could do something with your tooth that was so nice. TP
