I've Had It
Thu Jul 21 2005

Warning: I'm in a foul mood today. And I am using my blog as a place to vent my anger about the events in London today. Bad language, intolerance, and smart ass statements follow. Enter at your own risk.

It started out being a lovely day. We have cloud cover and cool temperatures which was such a gift compared to our heat wave of late.

Then I turned on the news.

I am filled with anxiety and frustrated rage. My usual attitudes of, live and let live fold up like a house of cards when faced with such brutal, savage, primitive thinking and insane actions.

Okay, so tell me again how these acts of terror, murder and mayhem give me the message that islam is the "bestest religion in the whole wide world, and you should convert right now and join us in blowing up innocent men, women and children?"

I just looked up the meaning of "islam".... I quote from an islamic web site:

"The literal meaning of islam is peace; surrender of one's will i.e. losing oneself for the sake of God and surrendering one's own pleasure for the pleasure of God."

So let me get this straight. Terrorists believe that it is the will of their "god" that they should blow themselves and as many innocents as possible into gory bits, hither thither and yon. This "god" wants this. And I am supposed to believe that islam is a religion of "peace". I guess if you redefine peace as "total domination of fanatic religious zealots who terrorize people into a complete state of paralysis".... well, I guess that might be "peaceful". Kind of like the atmosphere in the eye of a hurricane. Gotcha.

Seems to me you don't know the first thing about building. All you know is how to destroy. You are consumed with jealous rage that the rest of us have worked hard. Something you seem to know nothing about. You do exert quite a bit of effort running here and there planting seeds of hate and training young men and women in your cult of death camps.

And if this religion is so great, then why don't you live within islamic societies where you won't have to witness our so called degenerate lifestyles? I'm pretty sure there's plenty of room in Afganistan right now. How about Lebanon? Iran? Syria? Saudi Arabia? Take your pick. Iraq?... oh I forgot, you wouldn't like Iraq, they are trying to step into the 21st century. You might want to skip Iraq. Find a nice place in one of those other countries and arrange your government just exactly as you choose. Beat your women. Sit on your lazy butt and talk trash about westerners all day instead of supporting your family. Shoot adulterous women in the public square if you want to live like that. Beat people to death who accidentally drop a copy of the koran on the floor. Yeah, that sounds really great. You go right ahead. Knock yourself out.

But just get the hell out of my country to do it.

And don't let the Constitution hit you in the ass on the way out.

PS... Oh yeah. If I were you, I wouldn't mess too much with the Brits. You will live to regret it. They are a hardy lot. And I hope they kick your sorry keester all the way to mecca.

Well said and 100% correct! My only consolation this time is that apparently they didn't exactly know what they were doing. Unfortunately they've got time to figure it out. The bastards.

RYN: It IS cute!! I've got a couple of books with similar patterns I keep meaning to make. That looks too sweet for words!

I keep thinking about this: not a doily, but cute all the same.

    Right on!!!!

How about sending the contents of this entry to Letters to the Editor?

I'm so tired of all this. After the last JLI class we were given several suggestions of mitzvot to bring Mashiach. I'm reading Tehillim for that specific reason.

I think that's the only thing that's going to stop this insanity.

    Peace, please!

I know you were venting, but I couldn't help laughing at some of this. ;-)
