Winter Decisions

A few days ago, Sunny and I went for a short hike up the hill into the woods.
On the way back, since it was such a clear day, we spied something I sometimes overlook.
We only have to go up the hill a little ways, and we can see the BIG mountain...
Here it is a little closer...
It's looking pretty good with a nice layer of snow on it.
I have started to get my seed catalogs in the mail, and my favorite one showed up a couple of days ago:
I have no idea how I'm going to narrow my order down to something reasonable. EVERYTHING looks good at the moment! Even vegetables I may not care that much for are taking on a certain glow. :-)
I only have two things edible in the garden right now. Carrots and kale.
I went out there yesterday and picked all the edible leaves from my little kale forest and dug a few carrots to put in my salads.
The kale I gently stir fried and steamed with olive oil and garlic, then finished it with a little half and half.
I don't think I could ever fully convey how delicious and satisfying this bowl of stuff was.
The cold weather has sweetened it to the point of ambrosia-like awesomeness. Tender and savory.
I need to plant more this spring. Only thing is, how do I chose from all these varieties?
I have no idea...

Oh that bowl of stuff looks good to me! Love the snow capped mountain too. That's the very best kind of snow! You are making me want a place with a yard so I can garden too, love it!
