I got weary of trying to convince Miss Jane there are not going to be any chicks any time soon, and packed myself up and took Sunny up to the creek.
Let her sit on an empty nest.
I care not.
(Prevaricator.)
Oh all right.
I generally don't go for long walks at high noon. But today I had an errand.
I took something with me that I have been thinking about ever since I found that creek spot. I knit up a bunch of leaves. Twenty-two to be exact. And strung them on some yarn.
Today I installed it.
This is AFTER the great tanglethon. It was all neatly wound up before I left home, ,,,
But while sitting over on the other side of the creek, and getting it tied to the tree branch, it got hopelessly snarled up. I sat on the log in the nice shade and worked on it for…. quite some time. But I prevailed.
I started knitting these things when there was snow on the ground.
I'm glad to have it finished. I have no idea how it will handle the breezes or even if I will leave it up for long, but I finished my thought. I don't like loose ends in my brain.
Then I found this really great rock in the water, and decided to balance it if I could.
The bottom one is about 16 inches tall.
I took a bunch of pictures of it like this because I wasn't sure what would happen when I tried to add another rock. I didn't want to lose this balance altogether.
But it was more stable than I thought...
It's fun working with fairly large rocks.
This picture looks so surreal to me...
It was a nice time at the creek.
But now, I need a nap.
I think it's true what they say about mad dogs and Englishmen.
(Sunny is not a mad dog. She's a hapless victim of your ill thought out escapades.)
Oh leave me alone I need some iced tea and some shut eye. I've been awake since 4:15 this morning.
(That's no excuse.)
I don't NEED no stinking excuse.
What I NEED is less punctuation.
