    I am expecting company! A friend is coming from the civilized world, to our barely-civilized-snow-covered-world today. I'm giving her full credit for gutsiness. Though I hope I have not overstated our conditions. She bought waterproof boots for the occasion. I mean you never know, Ben might want to show her the finer points of Blue Jay hunting up on the hill. For this, she will need boots. So, I'm up early, trying to get the house warmed up again. The fire generally goes out at night, more's the pity. Bruce however, is now loaded up with wood, crackling away.   *** The other day as I was shoveling snow from the front porch, I glanced over and noticed my garden stake that I had poked into the ground one day in a random place because …. well, there IS no garden YET. I laughed, because the garden stake was being all ironical…. See what I mean?   *** Being snowed in has also brought on an alarming situation. The health and safety of my neighbors could be at stake .   Something is going to have to be done about it soon…..     We are almost out of Cherry Kisses.
