For the second day in a row, it has been overcast here.
I can't tell you how cozy that makes me feel.
It was inspiring enough to make me want to take the dogs for a long walk out in the fields. It's the Scots in me I guess. Too much sun just dampens me spirits....
Anyway, we went for a trek down by the creek. Sunny ran way ahead, Ben stayed closer by as a good Shetland Sheepdog should, keeping track of the flock. Even though the flock consisted of one human. While Sunny was out there, she found some irresistible coyote poop and just HAD to have a roll in it.
She regretted her decision when we got home and I washed her down in the back yard, with cold water from the hose and a glug of Murphy's Oil Soap.
No way was that dog going in MY bathtub. I don't think so.
Last night I was in Pragmatist's neighborhood and dropped by. She is doing as well as can be expected after her ordeal. I hope I am half as strong as she when I reach her time of life. Her cats were quite friendly this visit. I think they were just glad some people were home with them. They must have been lonely while she was away at the hospital.
I was going through some photos looking for likely art projects when I came across this picture taken last summer when Fiona was in charge of the rodent situation.

The poor wee beastie. Rest assured however, that I scooped this one up in a little bucket and popped him over the fence before any real harm was done.
The worst thing that had happened to him at this point was a good slobbering.
Well, I'm baking cookies for one of two parties I'm going to tomorrow. One for our art class and one for the knitting guild. It's been a busy week. I need a vacation!
(Perhaps a little roll in coyote poop would refresh you.....)
You're sick, you know that?
(There's a wide range of behavior that could be considered normal along the psychological continuum. )
Yeah, I think you are right on the continuum by the shores of Denial.
(Very amusing.)
I try.
