Silly Computers
Tue Dec 21 2004

OH MY GOSH!

My son and I have been on the computer together most of the day yesterday and today. In Windows XP he can remotely "possess" my computer and do things to it. We have been trying to get the internet configured for Hub Man's computer and mine since he just installed Windows XP also. Every time you change ANYTHING on your computer, this is what happens. OY!

So as it stands, Hub Man is connected, I am not. I'm in here "borrowing" his computer and posting this entry.

Really, it's just too boring. But I thought I should let you know why I am not commenting on many diaries right now.

The story is that we need a little piece of hub/networking hardware that will require a short shopping trip. Dang. It always boils down to money.

Grump, pout, frown.....

Hope to be back to normal in a day or two!

My son knows how to connect computers. Once when I visiting, I was playing solitaire on one of the puters. He wanted to use it, and escorted me to the other one, so I could continue playing my games.

He had some sort of music program on the puter I was using, and he wanted to do some composing or some such.

I have to run to you or Cali or Calantha for help.

Hope you're back on your own system soon!

    Shalom

I work for an electronics company and I recently hooked up two wrong cords on my new compture. I felt so silly calling for help, thinking the thing was broken. I think my boss was wondering why he hired me!

I just spent most of the day arguing with the webcam my sister sent me for my birthday. Then I realized I couldn't operate it in two programs at once. You'd think I would know that but no. Now it works and I still have the headache. :o)

Good luck with it all. We are going to XP company-wide from Windows 98 - big transition! And I'm sure . . . lots and lots of glithches. Hope all is settled for you soon!

I saw today a book about XP - it is on my wish list for myself after Christmas. I was at our favorite store, B&N - heaven!

am using an XP for a long time. i find it better than 98. but i have tried downloading that SP 2 and it messed my entire program. I have to remove it again. and my latest dilemma was when i trustingly opened an email from a friend and it was a hoax. it copied an email addy on my addresbook and embeded in my sytem W32beagle. i had to figure out how to totally eradicate it, for 3 hours.
