Incredible Mulitplying Paper Caper
Sat Jun 21 2003

Sorry about the missed entry. Our ISP was down yesterday and last night.

Today I was kind of on my own at work. My supervisor took the day off.
So I went begging for something to do from some of the other people in the department.

Someone needed a manual broken down into smaller parts so they could make notes for the person who was going to be going through an inspection who was not used to all the details or something.

Anyway I spent my entire day turning a 123 page document into what will end up being a 250 page document.

This is technology !

After all I used a COMPUTER to do this marvelous thing ! The person is very happy with how it is turning out, so that means something. But boy, it seems weird.

Especially when I run across statements like this in the manual.

I am quoting verbatim:

BH-23007

Are internal standards used where appropriate? Yes No

Comment:
Internal standards must be used where appropriate.

I kid you not.
Would I kid you about something as serious as this ?
For this, I wouldn’t kid you.
What me? Kid ?

But somebody’s got to do it. I suppose it might as well be me.

Probably.
Maybe.
I don’t know.

I need to go out in the garden and see if I can hear the tomatoes growing. Smell a few flowers. And watch Bob stalk the mousies.

I also think I need a good hot bath.

And Rubber Duckie Therapy.

You have my sympathies I had to write a how to manual for my workplace and I got a bit carried away complete with line drawings and diagrams.

Glad to hear the new job's going well. I really liked the snippet of the short story by the way. More please
