The garden has.... well, the only word that comes to mind is, exploded.
At some point the plants decided to go into overdrive. Though looking back over last year's pictures at this time, we are still about a month behind because of our cooler weather this year. Because I had baseball sized tomatoes on the vine in June last year. Right now I only have blossoms.

I trimmed some of the lower growth off the tomatoes yesterday and Hub Man and I tied them up a bit.

Here's a closer look. Those small ferny looking plants in the middle are the Lentils. I have no idea what they will do next. I wonder if they will get nice blossoms. Dunno.

Here's the trellis I learned to make from an Organic Gardening magazine. We shall see how it works. I suppose it will depend on how big and heavy the tomatoes are going to get. I can only identify one or two plants. They all lost their labels a long time ago in the seedling stage. I need better record keeping, this much is clear.

I took the dogs out early this morning to get a good run. Hoping to avoid having Ben looking at me all day long in anticipation. He's zonked out on the love seat right now. He ran himself to a frazzle. Sunny doesn't run as much these days. She's starting to slow down a bit. I would have to go check her paperwork to determine how old she is now. I'm not very good at the passage of time thing. I'm very unreliable in that department.

Alrighty then. Time for errands and grocery shopping. Wish me luck.

    Good luck!
I love that trellis! I'm going to make one for my tomatoes, too. Yep. Yep.
The lentils look great. I like the ferny-ness of the leaves.
Breezy and cool here in mountains. It has managed to reach 50* so far. Aiming for 64*. Believe it when I see it!

Late start equals good eatin' until later in the year?

Yeah, I know the problem with keeping track of time. I thought it was because the old brain was getting tired. That seems to be so in my case, but you'll have to find another reason.

    Bless

Lentils? Like in "lentil soup" lentils? What kind?
