In the spirit of new beginnings.... AND to get Lydia out of her breathtakingly stubborn broody, my youngest son and I made a trip to the feed store and brought her her heart's desire. B. put the chick in the nest... We let Lydia back in the coop... Surprise! A few moments of 'is this really happening?'... Is there a family resemblance?   Never mind. Close enough. Then, the little chick, who had been hatched in an incubator, God knows where, and had only known other little chicks for all of its (probably) four days or so.... knew exactly what to do with a real mother.... you dive into the down comforter. That's one smart chick.
