I recently heard about the first gay bishop. This guy is episcopal and there is big controversy. The conseratives want to branch off, the liberals want to be more open minded. Very tough subject for me to think about. I have my own conservative side that thinks being gay is a sin *it is backed up by scripture* and one must try to avoid sinning by giving it too GOD. My liberal/ psychosocilogical side of me says its a step forward in the acceptance and tolerance of what is natural, to be gay. There is evidence to prove it's natural too, besides the differences that gay people have in their brain, the practice is found in nature. Hmm, what to think, what to say?
I see it like this. It is one thing to be gay and christian. *wrong but should be tolerated and taught the flaws of thier way, like drunks are* However, when it comes to positions of power and influence, bishops or priest have to be held to a higher standard. THe congreation looks to them as real life role models. Any sins in thier lives should be well under control and not contraversial. It's like having a pastor that believes in astrology. This shows belief things other than God's *perfect* word.
On the flip side, atleast there is some progress going on in society. Christans are less anti-social than ever. *let us not forget what we did in the Crusades and the repression of women* That is all for the moment. Comments are welcomed, even if they have opposing views. I will critically think about each, especially those that challenge what I think. ~END~

Yes, homosexuality is wrong. It is a disease much like alcoholism. To be a Christian and a practicing homosexual is wrong. Through the power of God they can change and be happy. I knew a girl once who had been homosexual before conversion. Through the power of Christ she became straight. She admitted to still struggling at times with it, but her faith continued to give her victory and she was happier than she had ever been in her life.
I have never seen any support from nature for homosexuality being a "natural" lifestyle.
And that happy life realization thing? Found that too. I have a good life, bad stuff, good stuff and all. Realization is that I am happy. Now, I'm trying to realize joy. Big difference.

P.S. Your topic for today - I'm not touching that. All I'll say is, make sure to take a closer look at all the 'evidence'.
The continuous struggle for recognition of the gay people is something i totally understand. But this position is for people like you said. that are role models. And i mean role models in the sence that they try and follow God and do what He wants. In other words. Not having gay sex.
Being gay may not be a controversy in society anymore (which i think it's good). Gay sex still is against scripture.
If christians don't try to stick with scripture and start taking over societies morales. We aren't serving God anymore, but the society.
btw the crusades were a long time ago. and from that days point of view totally logical. to defend the holy land from disbelievers. And to allow pelgrims to keep going there.
the atrocities and political agenda of the pope weren't very christian though.
If homosexuality is so bad then why did God create people that were homosexual? Surely everything he created is right and in that case isn't it being contradictory?
Although it's not in the jewish bible (religious)jewish people tend to disagree with homosexuality too.
I'm not God though, i don't know if He hates it and why He would hate it. But it's very likely that God doesn't approve of gay sex. that's impossible to prove wrong.
In fact the whole theory that you are born this way is something orthodox people of most religions don't believe. No matter what scientists say.
In fact there are some people that claim to have been cured from being gay.
This is such a sensitive subject though. Only God knows the real truth. And were just going to have to wait till Jesus on judgement day judges all of us how things are going to affect us.
