Nothing very interesting today. There is a sustitute teacher this week where I work. So I am having a lil extra fun making and using my own curriculum on my students. As you may or may not know, despite the fact that I'm a teacher assistant, where I work I get to teach my own group. They are the beginning low students in terms of their English abilities. Moreover, many times my group is bigger than Casandra's *the teacher* group.
Beside that, I was interested in this pamphlet that was being handed out to me. Well, usually I just throw them away when they are handed to me. However, the pamphlet was from the UC Davis Muslim Student association. They come to me and say something along the lines of "Do you think religion and science are enemies?
I say, "I guess you could say that" Well, they say, "This video we're showing *on some date* will demonstate how the Quran has forsaw scientific discoveries." So I'm interesting on seeing what they "see" just for the heck of it. But the video is at 8Pm on a thursday. Too late for me to go out my way. But I do have this website.
The website is conviently titled "miraclesofthequran.com" The website has all these things that were "forseen by the quran". After looking at it, I have concluded that they used vague statemtents in an overreaching attempt like some christians to explain everything with the bible. Let me give you an example. They say the Quran forsaw microsopic organisms. The use the verse "Glory be to Him Who created all the pairs: from what the earth produces and from themselves and from things unknown to them. (Qur'an, 36:36)… And He creates other things you do not know. (Qur'an, 16:8) Seems like a fairly vague statement there that is smartly placed by the authors to say that there are things "He" makes that you don't know. It could be used to explain many things that were likely to happen in the future. Any intellectual writing a holy text knows to use words that can describe future advancements. I would've been impressed if they wrote, "there will be microorganisms that we be found to exsist with the advancement of technology".
Anyways, that was on my mind and thought you might find that interesting. I don't have much time left. You know, sometimes I think I should write a more humorous diary. I sometimes think that I write like I'm writing a position paper all the time. Minus the spelling error corrections and editing. I dunno.. I mean, the only way to really be humorous is to mock people, but I'm not really into that which is intellectually good, but makes me like stale bread sometimes.
To my private commentor *N*, I agree with you but can't post you a comment because your diary is friends only. So add me or I dunno. Whatever works for you. As for the MRI for the brain tumor, make sure you give plenty of emotional support to your honey. Tell him not to be afraid because even if something shows up, modern medicine is pretty good. I had this technique used on me where they went through my mouth and nose without leaving a single mark on my face. How cool is that? Tell him? I wish him luck

Sometimes I really want to have a deep conversation with someone and there's just no one around. It's annoying!
