Fri Feb 14 2003 - First valentine's day
First valentine's day
The day definately didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. It started later than I had planned and it all went downhill from there. It started with me and Michelle going to pick up our check. From there, I try to remember where to apply for Medi-cal. I eventually remember and we walk to the bus stop. While walking, I tell her I got something for her via the internet. Eventually she figures out that it is the heart shaped locket that she wanted. Later on, we discuss the stuff I got her, and she wants me to return it so we can use the money to save.

We catch buses we need and the while process frustrates her. Eventually we arrive. It is packed with a bunch of people. We wait in line and then proceed to fill out paper. Michelle starts to get frustrated and turns to me for help on the paperwork. I help her and we go back in line and turn in the papers. From there, they assign us a number and tell us that it will be from 1 to 4 hours. We decide to go out and eat. Afer all, it is valentine’s day. So we take the bus and eventually arrive at Black Angus.

It is very packed and they tell us that the wait could be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours or even all night. Seemed everyone decided to call reservations. Something I should’ve did. We then decide to leave. Michelle is further frustrated. She then ask if I’m hungry. I am and I decide we should go to Long John Silvers. I picked there because I knew she liked seafood.

We arriv and she doesn’t want anything. She is very mad. I eat and try to cheer her up. She thinks I’m mocking her and continues in her anger. I did silightly but not in a mean way* I eventually yell at her for being mad at me without cause. I tell her that we are both going through the same stuff and not to take it out on me. We then stop by JC penny to pick up my w-2 that I lost. We then proceed to the bus stop. I then ask her for a hug. She gives me one and we’re then ok.

We arrive back at the Medi-cal place to find that they were past our number. Though ther wasn’t anyone ther anymore. So after the brief scare, we then get called. They tell me since I’m 21 that they aren’t gonna give me Medi-cal and that I don’t qualify for cast aid or food stamps. They do however give me an appointment to see a worker about medi-cal because the person at the window can’t offically deny me. It‘s weird like that. Michelle on the other hand can recieve food stamps and medi-cal. So we then leave and wait in the cold for the bus. I wanted to call my mom, but we decided it was better for us just to take the bus and not to take advantage of my mom.

We eventually arrive home and I apologize for not such a good valentines day. We then sleep.

Nope, not such a good day. Don't suppose just being together was enough? Well, I hope some things start turning around for you two. It can't be bad all the time.
