Questions about Christianity, God, and other spiritual stuff
I decided to make a list of questions for 2 reasons. One reason is that I've always had quite a bit of doubts about what is claimed to be true. The second reason is that I was partially inspired by the list of questions on kaliko88's diary. *from someone else* I will also post this entry as a link on my sidebar as I will likely update it and maybe put it on my welcome page.

One side note though, unlike the list on kaliko's page, I am truely interested in the answers provided as I like to think that I have a semi-open mind. So I hope you keep it serious, unless you could use humor to make a point. Thanks

Lastly, none of my questions are meant to offend. So sorry in advance.

1. Christians, what makes the bible any more Truthful than any other holy text; ie. the Quran? And if you say history backs the bible, then how doesn't it back all the other holy books out there?

2. Has God blessed America? If so, why is material wealth considered a blessing? Or if you don't considered money or material blessings, what are blessings? Also, it isn't like we have the highest percentage of christians, or any other religious group for that matter.

2a. Why hasn't God "blessed" any other countries? If only for their non-belief, how is that fair as some have not had the oppurtunity to "converted". Plus, aren't our blessings of material wealth ill gotten? I mean, it is a well known fact that we exploited other countries to build this modern day Rome. How is that good?

3. How does God decide to answer prayers. I know you don't know for sure, but I'm interested in your rationale. Is it on sincerity? On need? What? If its based on the former 2 concepts, then why aren't prayers of those in 3rd world countries answered?

4. Christians, If the meek, and poor shall inherit the world, why don't you donate a large portion of your check to those in need? And by poor, do we use the American standard or the world standard?

5. Where is the proof of your soul? How do you know that you only have one? Some cultures believe you have several. How do you know this isn't the case?

6. American Christians, I don't understand your strong support for the Republican party. They do not wish to help the poor, they are for war, and they have consistently lied about various things, especially Bush's rationale for going into Iraq. *not that the Democrats are any better, but that's a different topic* Oh, if you think the current war is a good thing, then are you saying God is rooting for the USA? Does He believe some of his children shall kill a different segment of his children. I mean, isn't the judging of nations and stuff up to God on judgement day? I do remember some crazy passage stating that "thou shalln't judge".

7. If I generally do the right thing, do little evil and basically believe in God and Jesus and that sort, is that enough for heaven? What if I only believed in God? What if my version of God is off from the true version of God? How far off can my life be from ideal before I'm worth of "HELL"

8. If there is an ideal heaven out there and there will be no more tears and total happiness, does that mean God will have to clean my brain. Afterall, I think so many "sinful" things. Plus, I know I'd mourn for anyone I knew that didn't end up in heaven. I see no other alternative but to rid our selves of knowledge about evil. But then is it still me after all those parts are stripped away?

9. Is God really really everywhere? I mean, is he to my right and left? Does he reside in me? What about inside this book on biology next to me? Philosophically speaking, if he's not in that book, he is limited and thus not omnipresent. What do you think of that?

10. Let's just say there is a really evil person. I mean, BAD. I'm talking about kidnapped your children and tortured them to death type of Bad. Let's say this person, rots in jail until its time for his execution. Then, after meeting with a priest, he decides he's sorry and apologizes to the family and God. He then accepts Jesus as his lord and savior. He does everything in the book to be good. Does he go to heaven? How would it be heaven for you if you had knowledge of what that guy did? How is it fair that he makes it to heaven but some other person who was generally ok doesn't make it?

I don't want to overwhelm you guys so I'll stop there and wait for replies. I mean, those 10 are more like 50 anyway. I'll be waiting for your responses. I hope no one is offended as that is NOT my intent. I am seriously interested in your opinion. Look at this as your way to change someone.
