Wow, when I asked for any comments or suggestions on my previous entry, I didn't expect such depth. Thank you all that replyed. Took me a while to digest but now I'm ready to reply. Oh by the way, I cut the lenght of some comments to relavency. To read all of any commenter, go to the previous entry.
First off, froggy said,"Sometimes when I'm thinking I have no real friends, I find out I have more than ever. Maybe that is your case, too." To froggy, yes, seems the case with me too. To fury, I will be putting that i-mood thingy today. Now to shay40. *yes i'm gonna reply to every comment from yesterday :D* shay said,"What I do is look at what Christ said, to figure out what he wants us to do, and pay attention to that more than what other people tell you what you should do." I thought that comment there said alot. First off, I asked ppl this time so I could maybe reduce this time searching for what Christ wants out of me. And second I think that comment is right on the money. Thanks. *understands what you mean, just follow what you learn on your own, not what ppl might think, cause they probaly don't know*
The following comment is from Ladilizbet, it sounds like you are a decent person and will go to heaven no matter what; however your saddness with real life is perhaps what hinders your "fire" with god. Do you believe he has anything to do with our lives? Gee, I think she may of hit the nail on the head. I do think that is what hiders my fire. *gee, how didn't I think of that* On the second part, of course I believe he *GOD* has something to do with our lives. He has everything to do with our exsistance. That answers that. *I think* Next thing was from IAMNINA, "The first thing to do is to be sure that you have asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you. After that, you can depend on God to be there for you and to lead you in the right direction. I don't know anything about your personal life, whether you read the Bible or go to church, but these are very important to my life as a Christian. If you have a favorite preacher, ask him to help you find some kind of service you might do for God. Anything that you do to help someone else is pleasing to God. Just be looking for opportunities. I believe He will show you some ways to serve Him. I don't mean to preach to you, just wanted to be of help." Well, I know he *JESUS* has come into my heart and saved me. But the next thing sounded like what shay said. Follow/depend on God to lead me. I do read to bible sometimes and go to church. I might just ask my preacher to help me. * I"M just so shy* ANd IAMNINA, if your reading, don't feel bad about preaching to someone. As long as you don't nag someone. Well know this, as long as you do that kind of preaching to me, keep it coming. :D
The sixth comment I got was from Jayne. Hers also had alot of depth. Wow, she had so much where do I begin. *before I put it know she had better spacing but my copy and paste screwed it* Well, heres what she said,"The Bible says we are saved by GRACE THROUGH FAITH not of our own works! You can NEVER be 'good' enough to get into heaven so quit QUIT quit QUIT quit tarnishing the gift of God by thinking you can earn it by being a good person. Revelation says our righteousness is as filthy rags.
Now for the flipside of this point. Since our good works don't get us into heaven --- our bad works can't keep us out. See, our salvation has absolutely NOTHING to do with our WORKS!!! Our works are the EVIDENCE of our love to God. That is all they are.
I know God finds our desire to earn heaven offensive and he finds our lack of faith in His ability to save us heart-breaking. The only thing He wants is your 100% attention and your genuine love for Him.
God knows those who are His; those who desire to know Him and love him. It's all about sincerity. He reads your heart. All we must do is love Him sincerely and respond to His voice. Jesus says, "My sheep hear my voice..." If you've accepted Jesus as your Savior and you love Him with all your heart that is all you must do to be saved. It really is that simple.
See, when you love Him with your whole heart, you will WANT to do that which is right and true. Through His prophet, Ezekial (I think it was Ezekial) God promises to give you a new heart and throw your stony heart away. Then you will want to obey. It's God's job to change your heart - not YOUR job. Your job is to SEEK after HIM. Then let HIM change YOU. IT isn't the other way around. You don't change then go to Him. That is like a sick person trying to get well before he goes to the doctor!
Relationship with God is like this:
Say you married a woman. Do you think she would be impressed if you were faithful to her because it was against the law to commit adultry but in your heart you were wanting every beautiful woman you saw? You refrained from 'doing bad' Shouldn't she be happy then?
I think this woman would be deeply offended and heart-broken. I would want MY husband to remain faithful to me because he LOVED me deeply and didn't WANT to cheat on me. In this case his love is the driving behavior, not the 'law'.
This is what the Bible teaches. I am not a 'Christian' but I've accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and I know my sincerity towards the center of my universe. I fear for 'Christians' --- They are some of the most condemning, self-absorbed, bickering people I've ever met. Ghandi once said that if Christians lived the way they tell everyone else to live ~ there wouldn't be any Hindu's left in INDIA!
Ghandi wasn't a 'Christian' and yet, I know he was one of God's very own. God wants YOU Tinoz, not your pathetic works. When you let God consume you - it is then when your life 'works' will change.
I kinda had a feeling it was something like that. Basically what she said *for you that browse* is that You can't earn your way into heaven, sincerity counts the most and that your works will come as a result of your relationship of GOD. I will do stuff for him because I love him not because I'm trying to impress him. *oh jayne, I liked the married woman analogy by the way* Well I'm not huge on books but I might check out 95 Theses on Righteousness By Faith
-apologies to Martin Luther by Morris Vendon. To honey, ((((honey)))) thanks for the hug. And finally, the last comment *not least* was from menana. She said,"Christ's Rightouesness is given to us when we have accepted him by faith so all Christans are good Christians tho some of them may not always act like it. The more we put in to our relationship with the Lord the more we will get out of it. Christianity is not a religion(there are a lot of religions) but it is a relationship with your creator' by faith as you pray and stay in the word you will get more on fire for him naturally." I'm starting to see a trend here. I'm seeing that essentally that I myself have no true rightouesness of my own but have it through GOD. And that chirstianity isn't really a religon as to details of how to have a relationship with GOD.
Summary time. One thing, I see that people have took thier time to give me detailed respones and I thank all of them/you for the time you took. I'm so glad you ppl responded. Well, what have I learned. Well, One theme I see and should follow is that I should follow and listen to what God has to say. Another thing is that christanity is a relationship, not a religon. Also, that I can't earn my way to heaven. Oh, and that rightoueness is from God, not myself. ANd the last thing I learned, is that I have alot of people *yes I finally spelled it out* that care enough about me to help me. TO ALL OF YOU THAT REPLYED THANKS!!! man, I had more, but maybe I'll read through and find what else I wanted to say. END
