Wow, this class ROCKS!!! So many things learned in 3 hours time. *yes, the class was 3 hours long, Though I only go once a week* Well, what the heck did I learn huh, welll. First question talked about was, why aren't you all naked. It's hot outside, you'd survive. Then no one said anything. SO then she started telling us about how the social forces have dictated that. Just like it has dictated alot other things in our life. As for why socialogy came, well, before sociology came, people believed God preordained everything. But in about the 17th century, people seen that science worked for explaining other things. SO why not apply it to humans to solve social problems. So then she said, why not just use common sense. So she proceeded to hand us this paper. Told us to get into groups and discuss the questions. They were true/false style. Like for example, When faced with natural disaters such as floods and earthquakes, people panic and social organization disintegrates. YOu'd think true, but studies show false. ANother one, to humor yourself. Most people on welfare are lazy and looking for a handout. They could work if they want to. Now you thinking, must be true. Studies show otherwise. Most welfare people are just so unskilled and uneducated to have the ability to find the work they need. Also, these people are marginalized. LIke most of us here at DD. ANyways, ANOTHER Question. What group commits the most suicides? Age? Gender? Color? Successful? Married? NOw if you said teenagers, YOU WRONG!!!! Yup, your wrong. Did you say women. YOUR WRONG. DId you say black people since they're more represted. Again, your wrong. Most suicides is commited by elderly white successful males. Here's the numbers. 21.3% White MEn. 4.9% white women. 12.4% black men. 2% black women. NOw one would think, but women, they're more depressed. BUt, they have the social network to support them. It is also more socially acceptable for them to seek help. Why single, cause they're lonely. Why the difference in color. Black people are more closer. THey live in denser populations. WHich takes me to the next thing. Where do you think the most suicde happens in the U.S. If you Said California, YOUR ABSOLUTLY WRONG! The numbers show the rural states have higher rates. With Utah being exception. *religous state* Florida only dense state with high rates. Why, the elderly. THey kill themselves because they're buddies die off. They get more lonly. Even globally, this is true. AHh, there is so much more, but I don't want to bore you, you came to read about me, not my class.

The class was nice, I liked the people. Then I had to take bus and get home. Finally got back at *gasp* 10:30 Pm. Now I'm here. :D
