I heard the card companies turned some Catholic saint into a profitable day. Great marketing scheme. I bet that led to a promotion. However, I don't think we should have the day. Even though its a nice day when you want to treat your loved one special, I personally think everyday you should treat the one you love special. I don't know, I'm just crazy like that. I mean, when I was single, the holiday made me feel like crap. I can only imagine how many people commit suicide today.

These sneaky bastards are so good, that we're socialized to think we're inadequate if we don't have someone. Ofcourse, it happens anyways, but today is especially intense for lonely people. Then there's the guilt. You BETTER get your boyfriend/girlfriend something on Valentine's day. If you don't, WATCH OUT! You'll hear it all week and may even get slapped or something.

You know if I was working at a company, I'd try to make our product part of a holiday. What about "computer day". You give your friends and family a computer so they won't be left behind. Having an old computer would be a sign to the individual that no one loves them.
