If I had my druthers
Mon Aug 02 2004

It's August, and I cannot believe the weather we've been having. We should be triple digits, and we're in the 80s! Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but I'm wondering when SUMMER is going to come.

I believe we've had two triple digit days, and one of those days I was out of town.

I'm perfectly happy to skip summer in Sacramento, but I'm wondering what December is going to be like? It should be cold and windy, and maybe even rainy, but unless summer comes pretty soon, autumn will be late, and who knows what winter will be like.

If I had my druthers we'd have two seasons here: spring and fall. And maybe a little winter. I don't mind some bluster for awhile. But conidering what our winters usually are, if I had my more druthers, I'd druther have a winter home in Tucson.

A couple of my computer literate friends spent part of the afternoon here trying to figure out why I can't load two CD games. Finally had to email my granddaughter's computer nerd (who put this thing together for me) and ask if he could solve the problem. I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm not smart enough to be a computer user. Oh, I can type just fine, and as long as I'm in email, Yahoo, or deardiary, I'm OK. And that's the extent of it!

I can't take the CDs back and get my money back, because once the disk is out of the package, it's mine. They don't want it back. I bought the one CD hoping to find Scorpion on it, and the other one is a Crossword Puzzle disk.

Oh, well, I probably spend too much time in front of this screen anyway. But Scorpion is my favorite solitaire game, and I love doing crosswords. *sigh*

Shalom

well if its any consolation, we've had a rather mild winter this year so you never know. perhaps you will be spared a cold and prolonged winter yourselves?

    Dear Chaya,

I see you prefer mild weather to extremes. Who doesn't? But I still enjoy the occasional thunderstorm. Just not when I am walking home from work!

Guess what, Chaya, most of us aren't that hot with computers either. We can navigate the Net, e-mail, create blogs, run a word processor etc and that's about it. You're much more computer literate than my Dad is, for all his book learning.

    Love,
    E.L.

I know my husband would be lost without Pogo.com. He doesn't pay the premiums, he uses it through his aol. I think it's a great resource and I hope you do get your games going again soon.
