It never really rained here, mostly drizzle, but the temperature was probably 20 degrees less than yesterday. And I had to turn on the heater. But this is fairly typical of Sacramento. The first part of March was balmy, the last part trying for winter again. Or some years March comes roaring in with wind and horizontal rain, and the latter part is sweet Spring.
I checked on the sweet peas and morning glories and found two more sprouts. I hope this sudden cool weather doesn't further delay the sprouts. I wonder if that little bird I saw yesterday decided to forage in my asparagus fern again. I found a large handful of short branches scattered on top of the seed bed. But no sign of a nest. Curious.
Today was mostly a nothing day. I didn't sleep well last night, and when I finally did sleep, I didn't wake again until after 10 am. I finished editing my friend's manuscript last evening, wrote him an email telling him it was ready for him, and he telephoned about 20 minutes aft0er I left my bed this morning. I did warn him I was still in my bathrobe.
Still a little bachache from the mopping, but the floor looks really nice. Worth the work, I guess. I didn't feel much like going out in the drizzle, so I got a little more caught up with my email, and did some reading.
I'm lonesome for my cat. Even though I know she's not here, I still automatically look for her on my bed. I really don't want to bring the other cat here until I've returned from my trip. Doesn't feel right to bring him here and then leave him again just as he's getting settled. But I really miss the furry presence in my home.
The cat waiting for me is pure white, a very handsome fellow. He's been named already, and appropriately if my daughter has correctly described his yowl. He is Baensidh, pronounced Banshee. 'Nuff said? I hope he'll be happy as the Only Cat of the Household, as he's been raised with 4 other cats and a rabbit. No, FIVE other cats. I keep telling my daughter she should get a kennel license.
Aaaahhhh! Morton Gould's Grand Canyon Suite is playing on the radio. I haven't heard that in a long time.
Well, I've nothing more to say this evening. Who was it said "Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut"? In this case, still my fingers.
Shalom
