I wonder if maybe I am allergic to the iodine. Last night I started itching on my chest. Upon inspection, I discovered a rash with some hives-like bumps interspersed. Further inspection revealed a mighty rash from my left waist around to my lower back and buttocks. That started itching like crazy. A generous application of Benadryl gel helped. My face was flushed with color I never have without cosmetics, but no break-out.
The iodine was infused starting about 12:15 pm on Wednesday. The itching, flushing and break-outs started around 10:00 pm on Thursday. If that was a reaction to the iodine, then is surely was a delayed reaction! But I can't think what it could have been otherwise. I hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary (definitely not peanuts), and I drank nothing but water all day.
Well, it's a puzzle, and I'll be sure to discuss it with my doctor when I see him.

- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 11 2008It could be a late reaction. Good to ask the doc.
RYC - I shop blindly, too, but not anymore. Like I said though, it's not like I can do a thing about it.
