Pie
Sat Nov 27 2004

I went looking for a pumpkin pie, but there was nary a one in the freezer. So I settled for mince.

Everybody in the family likes pumpkin, but I'm the only one who likes mince.

So I would have had the whole pie to myself in any event.

Maybe Sunday or Monday I'll try again for pumpkin. The freezers should be restocked by that time. And I'll have my pumpkin-eater-too.

Shalom

Sorry you couldn't find any pumpkin *sigh*. At least you have the mince to keep you company over the weekend!

My mom did that too. She would make a pumpkin pie for the children (5 of us) and a mince meat pie for her, no one else like mince. I think that is a wonderful idea. I can not believe no pumpkin pie though, wow.

I have fond memories of mince pie with my grandparents, I don't think I have had one since.
I have a pumpkin pie in the freezer for our turkey dinner dessert tomorrow night.

We had our celebration after Thanksgiving, actually eating on Saturday . . . and oh was it hard finding a pumpkin pie! But we did finally find one . . .

I like mincemeat as well, although being ingnorant here, I thought it was not vegetarian?

Private comment here as well . . .

    Happy Belated Thanksgiving, dear Chaya!

I am a small person with a big appetite. I will eat any pie that you place before me. :o) I've never had pumpkin pie before, though. I don't know anyone who makes pumpkin pie. Over here, I normally get cooked and curried pumpkin in Indian restaurants. They slice up the pumpkin and stir-fry it with spices and mustard seed and curry powder and dried red chilies. It makes your mouth water just to smell it cooking!

I am sorry I have been away from Dear Diary. My home PC is giving trouble. The hard disk is dying and the computer keeps shutting itself down. This also happened when I was trying to leave you comments. I do apologize if I am not able to keep in touch in the next week or so, until Jake and I manage to buy a new hard disk.
    Thanks for caring!

    Lots of Love,
    E.L.
