It must be spring
Thu Mar 25 2004

When I was reading the paper this morning a flutter caught me on the periphery of my vision. I looked out toward the patio and saw this tiny bird flying around my hanging plants. It landed on one of the plants, but apparently the plant didn't suit its purposes. It flew down to my asparagus plant and took a piece from one of the stems, and flew off. I kept waiting for it to come back and gather some more nesting material, but it never came back.

Well, I'm full of energy, but I'm finding the energy doesn't last as long as I'd like. I mopped the kitchen floor--and there's a lot of floor. I moved stuff from one end of the kitchen to the other end and started mopping. Ended up sectioning off the area and mopping one area, then sitting for a spell, then going back to the next section, and and and....

When that portion was dry I moved everything to the newly mopped floor and finished the rest of the kitchen. Then when that was dry, I moved everything back to its normal place. And ended up with a backache. Not from the moving, but from the mopping. That particular movement gives me a backache, and so does vacuuming. The trials and tribulations of a woman too poor to hire a housekeeper.

Around 10pm, I decided the floor needed to be polished. As it happens, I found a bottle of Future, a Johnson & Johnson product. It's not a wax, but it does give the linoleum a shine. Applied with a sponge mop, and another backache.

Ah well.

Had a good chat with Beth this evening. She sounds very different from a month ago. Happy, comfortable. Still taking baby steps, but getting there. We should all give Caleb a big DD pat on the back for all the good and kindness he's showing Beth.

Our upper-80s weather has gone for awhile. Down to mid- and low-70s. I actually had to turn on the heater for awhile this morning. My nose was getting cold. We may have some rain by Friday, but I hope it's only Friday. I've had enough until the rains start again in the late fall. But even with the lower temps, it's lovely to see the clear skies and the sun.

I think I took my electric blanket off the bed too soon. Gets a mite chilly at night.

It's getting on to bedtime, so I'll bid y'all good night.

Shalom

Ouch, your poor back! Those two activities do my back in, too - can't straighten up after, lol.
I have not got much energy to look at everybody's diaries. I believe my energy will improve, but it hasn't been happening, yet!
I think I might just crawl back to bed now... ;)

We had barn swallows return to their nest, which for us is the first sure sign of spring!
