I called the post office Wednesday mid-afternoon and said I'd lost my mailbox key. The nice lady took all the information --address, box number, name-- and said she'd put a work order in. She said if I found the keys before 4:30 to call because after the work order went in, she couldn't recall it.
She also said that sometimes the maintenance crew has a lot of work to do, and sometimes they can't come by right away. So I was set to stand by the mailbox and have the carrier hand me my mail until I could get a key.
The nice lady called me about an hour ago and said my keys were ready. I'd need to show a picture ID, and pay $15 for the keys. No problem!!
Now I have THREE keys. Gave one to neighbor to keep along with my housekey, put one away in my jewelry box (labelled), and the third one on a key ring that's hanging on the key peg right now.
Pretty good service, wouldn't you say?
